Good news that a venue has been found, but I have some reservations. If the British Grand prix is that weekend the A43 corridor will be shut for access to the area for many travellers, and the immediate local roads - country lanes really - are very capacity limited from whichever direction the airfield is approached. Long queues even with a very early start, plus long delays leaving are predicted! Crowd enclosure size will depend on whether just the hard runway plus its parallel grass strip are only used, or a much smaller enclosure if the other runway direction on the grass is needed for the taildraggers. Whilst at the LAA events it has been possible to wander far and wide "airside" during flying, I suspect for Legends it will be much more restricted even if we are still in a Covid regime of limiting numbers of spectators. Sywell has the ambience for Legends but I worry whether the site and access will cope. Perhaps the Thursday and Friday rehearsals will prove very popular? Attached is an airfield diagram I found on the Web giving possible enclsure boundaries depending on the amount of airfield needed for safe operations.
But I'm sure many of us will still join the throng!

I have to agree - I don't think the logistics of this will work unless crowd numbers are significantly reduced. I hope that I am proven wrong but traffic management will be a huge issue. And we will be looking into the sun most of the afternoon too!

Provisionally, the Silverstone GP will be the week after, on the 18 July. It was moved to avoid clashing with some other sporting event (which I can't remember which one, Football, or Wimbledon or something).
Still going to be a nightmare though…
