This year's photo competition will take on a different form.
Obviously there have been extremely limited opportunities to get out and about for photographs in the past 12 months so our usual photo competition will be carried over to 2022 when any photograph taken in either 2020 or 2021 will be eligible. With this in mind, we sounded out a number of the usual entrants about holding a one-off “competition” this year and received a positive response so the plan is as follows. Any member can enter a maximum of 6 photos taken at any time – these can be digital originals or scanned versions of older slides/prints. The only stipulations are that they must not be of any subject which the entrant has previously submitted into an MKAS photo competition and, as always, air-to-air shots are excluded to ensure a more “level playing field”. Hopefully this gives you the opportunity to submit some favourite images which have been held back in previous years or maybe to pick out some unusual subjects which you think would be of interest.
All images entered will be shown after the AGM and a winner will be chosen by members’ votes subsequently. The committee will have selected their top 10 images from all those submitted and these will then be posted here in this thread where you will be able to view them and vote for your favourite – the winner will be the one with the most votes 2 weeks after the AGM.
So please start looking through your “back-catalogue” and pick out a few favourites. The deadline for entry will be Tuesday February 23rd and I look forward to seeing what you send me.
Good luck,
Chris
