On Wednesday I decided I needed a AV Gas fix so gave myself the afternoon off for a road trip and I must admit I got very lucky First port of call was Mildenhall for the arrival of one of the new Boeing KC46a's Boeing KC46a 66023 by Daren Eaton, on Flickr then a short hop over to Lakenheath to catch the blue tailed heritage jet landing Heritage F15C 84-0010 by Daren Eaton, on Flickr Marham was next on my hit list for a nice pairs land of the F35's RAF Lockheed Martin F35b ZM149 & ZM150 by Daren Eaton, on Flickr It would have been rude not to take a photo of the Hunter at Fleet Hargate Hawker Hunter F1 WT680 by Daren Eaton, on Flickr Finally I arrived at my original destination of Coningsby for bit of night flying 1. Eurofighter Typhoon by Daren Eaton, on Flickr 2. Eurofighter Typhoon by Daren Eaton, on Flickr 3. Eurofighter Typhoon by Daren Eaton, on Flickr 4. Eurofighter Typhoon by Daren Eaton, on Flickr 5. Why would we not get this far?
Always a joy (albeit enviously) to appreciate some quality (albeit with more luck than I ever achieve notably regarding weather and activity!).
Thanks.

Those are brilliant photos Daren. I'd seen that Coningsby were night flying last week and nearly headed up there myself. Now I wish that I had!

Good job I didn't go then - they would have ceased flying as soon as they knew I was going. Quite apart from the weather probably changing to monsoon-like!

You do realise that the British Grand Prix is on that day - it's risky anyway, whether or not I go! Anyway, there's not a chance I'll be there - radiotherapy side effects have put paid to any ideas, so from that perspective, you're good to go! (Fortunately, as the BGP is non-spectator, except via Channel 4 or Sky, it'll probably be dry - God has a perverse sense of humour!)

Daren, some lovely photos on quite a round trip dayout. Particularly liked the F-15C in the Heritage colours, since I had thought these had all been repainted back to gray, with gray , highlighted by gray. I missed the trio last year, so now must ponder a trip to The Heath to try and see for myself. On the meteorlogical front, I think 2020 had the best sunny conditions for major July airshow weekends for some years - but no airshows!
